Riegelsville, PA, December 15, 2020: Eracent is pleased to announce that its IT Management Center™ (ITMC) Discovery solution now provides Oracle Database detection and reporting that has been approved by Oracle’s Global Licensing and Advisory Services (GLAS) third-party tool verification program. As a result, the data provided by ITMC Discovery™ about Oracle Database installation and usage will be accepted by Oracle for use in for a variety of license management activities including compliance audits and true-ups, among others.

As part of their extensive verification process, Oracle thoroughly reviewed Eracent’s discovery methodology, accuracy and completeness of data across multiple platform environments.

ITMC Discovery proactively identifies the location of each Oracle Database instance and instance and scans for details about the installed software, the server environment, and each product feature, option and pack that is installed and in use. This level of evidence is critical for determining an accurate Oracle compliance position, which can have a significant impact on licensing costs and compliance with Oracle licensing agreements. By being aware at all times of how Oracle Database applications are installed, configured and utilized, enterprise organizations can optimize their licensing and maintenance costs and avoid significant enormous fines and true-up costs that can result from improper product installations and usage.

“We’re very pleased and excited to have our solution verified by Oracle,” stated Eracent Chief Executive Officer William Choppa. “It was a lengthy and rigorous process, but we appreciated the input from the experienced Oracle GLAS team, and the knowledge transfer was invaluable. Our enterprise customers who have substantial investments in Oracle database products will benefit tremendously.”

The GLAS verification does not apply to Oracle’s non-database products or the overall capabilities of the vendor’s solution.

This complete data about Oracle Database instances and environments is not only essential for Software Asset Management (SAM) purposes, but it is also a solid foundation for Oracle migration planning, testing and verification.

In addition to Oracle Database products, ITMC Discovery provides detailed information about the installation and usage of any on-premise or SaaS application, as well as cloud infrastructure.
