Challenge:
- Despite multiple discovery technologies, including SCCM, they did not have a baseline of license positions for any of their publishers. Prior audits by xx resulted in significant penalties.
- License keys and an increasing number of SaaS products presented a challenge for their small but experienced SAM team.
Results
- Within 12-14 months, a comprehensive license compliance baseline was generated for their top ten publishers.
- These publishers included Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, RedHat, Citrix, and (xxx).
- Eracent team members, the client organization’s SAM team members and a handful of specialized consultants from a SAM consulting organization collaborated on this project.
- The organization had a licensing baseline ready for audits and true-ups (some of which took place during the project), and also to help right-size after significant COVID-related changes to their own staffing and their industry as a whole.
