The first day of the conference was reserved for discussion concerning the impact of version 3 during the first six months since publication. It was a great opportunity to meet authors of the ITIL v3 books and have any confusion clarified at the source. Service management is widely implemented, but absorbing the new changes has generating some questions. At the same time, version 3 adds new materials that were missing in the previous version. Service lifecycle management is a great organizational tool.
Another interesting idea was that in addition to the six tracks of information delivered through presentations, the seventh track experimented with innovative learning sessions through the use of simulation games. Since the event was well-attended by training and consulting companies, the experimental track was an excellent idea, offering fresh ideas for reaching all types of learners.
ITIL is the Information Technology Infrastructure Library, a library of service-oriented guides for the operations of the IT department within any organization. Version 3 of ITIL has a number of significant changes, including reorganization of the books themselves and the addition of a service lifecycle perspective.
